About the role

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Operations Manager to lead and optimise all core operational functions. You will be responsible for onboarding, payment processing, compliance, risk management, and cross-team collaboration. This role plays a key part in driving efficiency, supporting regulatory licensing, and enabling business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily operations across onboarding, payment processing, compliance, and risk management, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Partner closely with executive leadership to drive strategic operational development of payment services, including banking and acquiring solutions.

  • Act as the primary liaison with external stakeholders during licensing processes, business plan preparation, and policy alignment.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational KPIs and SLAs to track performance and improve service delivery.

  • Drive process optimisation and automation, including the implementation of company-wide data access frameworks, internal policies, and control mechanisms.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with IT, Legal, Compliance, AML, and Client Support to align operations with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and resolve complex operational escalations, ensuring timely solutions and customer satisfaction.

  • Support regulatory readiness for licensing and audits, ensuring compliance with frameworks such as DORA.

  • Oversee strategic hiring and team development, including recruitment for key leadership roles and mentorship of operational team leads.

  • Build a culture of accountability, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the operations department.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations leadership within fintech, payments, or financial services.

  • Proven expertise in building and optimising operational processes at scale, ideally in a regulated environment.

  • Strong knowledge of payments infrastructure (banking, acquiring, onboarding, risk, and compliance).

  • Experience with regulatory licensing processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships at all levels.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing data-driven improvements.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities.
