Job Title: Refugee Protection Specialist","

Reporting to the Government Liaison Officer, this position provides critical support in strengthening the reception system and improving communication with refugee communities. The successful candidate will conduct regular field visits to border, reception, accommodation, and registration sites, organizing needs/participatory assessments and meeting with asylum-seekers, refugees, and stateless persons.

","Key Responsibilities:","
  • Analyzing the protection environment and contributing to the review and analysis of national legislation and practices.
  • Identifying challenges and needs of asylum-seekers and refugees.
  • Conducting protection monitoring and supporting individual case interventions and judicial engagement.
","Requirements:","

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of international refugee and human rights law, as well as strong analytical and facilitation skills. Fluency in Latvian and English is essential, with knowledge of Russian, Ukrainian, and/or other UN languages being an asset.
