Head of Sales

Our client, a global and well established Payment Service Provider, is looking for an experienced Head of Sales to head their Merchant Acquiring Sales department.
With over 10 years of proven track record, the company powers payment infrastructure for more than 2,000 clients—including PSPs, banks, and online/offline merchants—processing close to €1 billion in transactions annually. As a Principal Member of Visa and Mastercard, as well as as regulated financial institution with multiple licenses across the globe the company offers a wide range of cutting-edge solutions: from card acquiring and alternative payment methods to white-label issuing, gateway technology, and end-to-end processing.
Now, they're strengthening their commercial team and seeking a strong leader to drive the growth of their merchant acquiring business—focusing on e-commerce merchants and strategic PSP partnerships across the EU and UK.
- Lead, inspire, and manage a team of sales professionals focused on merchant acquiring;
- Define and execute sales strategies targeting e-commerce merchants and PSP partnerships;
- Oversee the full merchant acquisition cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiation, closing, and onboarding;
- Build and nurture strategic alliances with PSPs and fintech ecosystem partners;
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and operations to enhance the merchant journey;
- Stay ahead of market and industry trends to identify new revenue opportunities;
- Track team performance, analyze results, and report directly to senior management.
- Proven track record in sales leadership within fintech, payments, or financial services;
- Strong knowledge of payment acquiring (card schemes and alternative payment methods);
- Experience in building, scaling, and managing high-performing sales teams;
- Strategic commercial mindset with a hands-on approach to execution;
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication in English (additional languages are an advantage);
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales performance tools.
- Competitive salary between 4,000 EUR and 7 000 EUR (depending in the interview results);
