Legal Counsel

As Legal Counsel, you'll play a main role in ensuring legal security, regulatory alignment, and corporate governance across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal support on corporate, commercial, labor, and data protection matters.
• Advise management and business units on contract law, compliance of marketing/financial materials, and product documentation.
• Monitor operations for regulatory risks (MiFID, MiCA, FCA, SEC, etc.) and advise on preventive measures.
• Draft and review cross-border contracts, internal policies, and legal documentation.
• Support strategic decisions with clear analysis of legal implications and risk mitigation.
• Track international regulatory changes and recommend proactive adjustments.
• Collaborate with external counsel on tax, finance, and corporate law across key markets.
• Safeguard the company's legal interests in international operations and partnerships.
• Contribute to building a strong compliance culture across the organization.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Law (or equivalent legal qualification).
• 5+ years of legal experience, ideally in FinTech, IT, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Latvian and international regulatory frameworks; US/UK exposure is a plus.
• Proven experience with complex multi-jurisdictional contracts and compliance structures.
• Excellent Latvian and English (legal terminology); additional languages are an advantage.
• Analytical, precise, and confident in resolving complex legal issues independently.
• Ability to balance legal risk management with business growth objectives.
