We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will play one of key roles in a newly established Anti-Financial Crime and Compliance team and take a responsibility for a full-cycle development of risk models and other analytical solutions.
The Senior Data Scientist will join the Enhance Due Diligence team within Luminor Anti-Financial Crime which is responsible for risk-based process of conducting more intensive background checks, verification, and ongoing monitoring for higher-risk customers, transactions, or business relationships to identify, assess, and mitigate potential financial crime or compliance risks.
What You Will Do:
- Play one of the key roles in establishing the advanced EDD capability
- Be responsible for the full life cycle design and development of different risk models and other predictive analytical solutions
- Identify and implement the new non-traditional model attributes and data sources
- Make research of new modelling methodologies and help to improve the current solutions
- Work with data analysts and engineers to select the appropriate data sets and data representation methods
- Improve the design of current models via process automatization
- Maintain relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of new models and analytical initiatives
- Communicate and present the results, findings and detailed technical information in a simple and concise manner
- Transfer the knowledge, mentor and support the junior team members
What We Expect:
- Expert proficiency in Python, with extensive experience using GenAI and machine learning libraries and frameworks, such as LangChain, Streamlit , TensorFlow etc.
- Extensive experience (at least 3-5 years) in modelling, data science and data analysis
- Demonstrated history of delivering complicated models / business solutions
- Experience working with Large Language Model providers, such as Gemini, OpenAI, or Claude
- Understanding of cloud-based platforms and services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with experience deploying and managing AI/ML models in the cloud.
- Knowledge of main mathematical and data science concepts (probability theory, regression, neural networks, decision trees, etc. )
- Knowledge of techniques and practical experience in data preparation
- At least a Master's Degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, engineering or other STEM field
- Experience in banking, financing, lending services or fintech services
- Ability and desire to share the knowledge and educate other team members
- Ability to present ideas and results in a concise manner
- Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of fraud analysis, KYC, and EDD processes
- Knowledge of SQL and ability to write complicated queries
