Head of Global Sustainability

The Head of Global Sustainability is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the organization's sustainability strategies and initiatives. This role involves leading a team of sustainability professionals, ensuring that the company's operations are environmentally responsible, socially equitable and economically viable. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and other senior leaders to integrate sustainability into all aspects of the business.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company's mission and values.
  • Lead sustainability function, providing vision, direction and team leadership.
  • Collaborate with CSO and senior leadership to integrate sustainability into corporate strategy.
  • Identify key areas for sustainability improvements across the organization.
  • Develop and implement sustainability programs, initiatives and projects to drive environmental, social and economic sustainability.
  • Create a governance model for sustainability conforming to ESG standards.
  • Establish and enforce sustainability policies and standards.
  • Oversee efforts to reduce environmental footprint through resource management and emission control, closely collaborating with Head of Global EHS.
  • Implement and promote renewable energy initiatives and eco-friendly practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and social regulations and standards.
  • Promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives benefiting employees, communities and other stakeholders.
  • Develop diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) programs within the organization.
  • Engage with community partners and stakeholders to foster positive relationships. 
  • Embed sustainability practices in procurement and logistics with the procurement team.
  • Promote sustainable sourcing and ethical practices among suppliers and partners.
  • Assess environmental and social impact of supply chain activities.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain sustainability dashboards and reports to track performance.
  • Conduct regular sustainability audits and assessments for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare sustainability reports for executive management and Board of Directors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, customers, investors and regulators.
  • Communicate company's sustainability goals and achievements internally and externally.
  • Represent company at sustainability conferences, forums and industry events.
  • Manage, develop and support a high-performance sustainability team.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Foster a culture of sustainability and social responsibility across the organization.
Your Profile
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, corporate social responsibility or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role managing sustainability initiatives.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing sustainability strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks and tools.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach.
  • Passionate about sustainability and social responsibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • High level of adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
