Riga, Rīga, Latvia IPF Digital Full time €40,000 - €80,000 per year

We are looking for a Credit Risk Manager in Latvia to join our global Credit, Risk & Fraud team.  In this role, you will lead and manage the local credit risk agenda for IPF Digital Latvia — ensuring that business growth is achieved through smart, data-driven, and customer-centric risk decisions.

You'll partner closely with the Country Manager and the Credit Risk Hub team to develop, test, and refine credit strategies, policies, and systems that enable sustainable customer growth while protecting the business from unnecessary risk. This is a hands-on, analytical, and strategic role where you'll turn complex data into actionable insights and help shape the direction of our credit risk function in Latvia.

You'll thrive in this role if you're flexible, creative, and excited by innovation. Our digital lending business is evolving rapidly, and you'll be right in the middle of this growth — experimenting, challenging, improving, and helping us achieve our ambitious goals.

This role is based in Riga and reports to the Credit Director, forming part of our international Credit, Risk & Fraud team.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and own the local credit risk agenda, ensuring profitable and sustainable growth in line with the business plan
  • Lead and oversee credit policy design, rules, models, and decision systems across the credit risk lifecycle.
  • Partner with the Hub Credit Risk team to improve credit strategies, frameworks, and automation.
  • Analyse portfolio performance, identify trends and patterns, and translate them into actionable improvements.
  • Support the launch of new products and services, including risk-based pricing, channel-based strategies, and innovation initiatives.
  • Monitor and review credit and arrears management processes, ensuring compliance and effective governance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency within the risk framework.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders — including data providers, credit bureaus, and technology partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, influencing strategic business decisions through deep risk insights.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • A degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, or another quantitative field.

Skills & Knowledge

  • High-level ability to interpret complex performance data and identify actionable insights
  • Strong understanding of credit scoring, analytics, and digital credit risk processes
  • Technical proficiency in SQL (knowledge of R or Python is a plus)
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Creative and flexible problem-solver who thrives in a fast-changing environment
  • Strong understanding of consumer credit legislation and regulatory requirements

Experience

  • Proven experience managing credit risk in an online or digital lending environment
  • Hands-on experience with credit policy design, scorecards, and risk models
  • Exposure to international or cross-cultural business environments
  • Experience working with SAS or similar analytical systems (desirable)

Languages

  • Fluent in English and Latvian (both verbal and written)

What we can offer you:
  • Full-time employment contract in a fast-growing and innovative company
  • Modern office in Riga, easily accessible and designed for collaboration
  • A comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being
  • All necessary tools and technology to support your success
  • International exposure and the opportunity to make real business impact
  • A creative, professional, and supportive team environment
You'll love working at IPF Digital if...

You enjoy autonomy and ownership, love collaborating across cultures, and value a friendly, open, and innovative environment. You'll fit right in if you're ambitious, data-driven, and ready to make a difference in a company that values people first and believes that failure — if fast — is part of growth.
