About the Role

As a procurement professional, you will work with centrally sourced items and vendors to negotiate contracts and optimize purchasing processes. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding less experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure high-value items across multiple sites, utilizing established contracts and managing bid requests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify purchasing needs and execute related tasks, including document generation and purchase order approval.
  • Research and develop cost-effective sourcing options, maintain a supply base, and consolidate suppliers to streamline purchases.
  • Foster and maintain positive business relationships with vendors and users.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of quality goods and services at agreed prices. Resolve commercial conflicts and quality issues through procurement managers or directly with suppliers.
  • Assess supplier performance for regional or global purchases. Report on cost reduction and other metrics. Analyze trends to identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Provide training and leadership as needed. May lead projects or locations, guiding procurement staff.
  • Support sustainability and regulatory initiatives per site/region requirements.
  • Participate and support product management and/or product development projects as necessary.
  • Identify and highlight potential cost-saving opportunities to the procurement team.
  • Partner with site capital and project management teams to ensure successful delivery of capital projects in the region.
  • Ensure that procurement plans are established and maintained for assigned projects and/or sites.

About You

  • You hold a university degree in Business, Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of purchasing experience, preferably with project management and capital projects.
  • You have good knowledge of contract design and understanding of the marketplace relating to goods and services purchased.
  • Advanced computer skills; including knowledge of MS office (incl. Teams) and procurement applications.
  • Strong negotiation skills and general understanding of business issues and financial principles.
  • You can engage in verbal and written communications that are direct, concise, clear and relevant, and delivered in an appropriate manner.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of other European languages is considered an advantage but not essential.
  • You have a positive mindset and teamwork spirit.
